Butch Novotney - President
Butch has been in the transmission industry for over 34 years. He arrived in Alaska in 1973 with his new wife Cathi. He helped start B&B with his parents. When they retired in 1990, Butch took over from then.
Amy Novotney - Receptionist
Amy has been in the industry since 1993. She is also Butch's oldest daughter. Amy is the one who will take care of you and your vehicle when it comes to our facility.
The History of B&B - Automatic Transmission
B&B Automatic Transmission, Inc. in Anchorage, Alaska is an honest example of great people that run a great business in the Last Frontier. B&B first opened for business in 1973. Bob and Betty Novotney, (hense B&B) pursued their love of Alaska and guided their private airplane from Wisconsin to the 'Great State' several times in the late 60's. Bob and Betty cut a trail to Anchorage for their son Butch and his childhood sweetheart Cathi soon followed. 'Little did I know what a phone call from Wisconsin to Alaska would mean in my life,' recalls Butch. 'My dad told me that if I wanted to work hard, Alaska would treat me good.' The business was a success right from the start. The Novotney's established and nurtured a successful transmission repair business in a time and place that presented more than the usual share of challenges. B&B's standard of excellence is 'Give the customers more than they expect, and treat them like family.' The extra time taken with customers in explaining things to set their minds at ease, the thoroughness and insistence on quality, the after-sale customer support; it all forms the glue that holds things together. B&B Automatic Transmission is a thriving, third generation transmission shop and Alaska's transmission specialist.
